Enemies are one of the obstacles that stop the main character from progressing, and they kill the player on contact or with weapons or magic.
There are many kinds of Enemies, each acts in a different manner.
Most Enemies do not appear until the player reaches a certain area as they progress down the Tower, in general the enemies will be encountered more or less in the order in which they appear in the table below.
All types of Enemies have a Named version. This version acts in a slightly different manner than the regular and can pose a greater degree of difficulty in some cases. In most cases a Named Enemy only has an increase in Hit Points, Speed, or Attack Speed, but other improvements also occur.
Killing any Enemy with the player's chosen melee weapon will build Rage with the exception of Wum Wum.
Enemies are different from Traps in that Enemies can all be killed with any weapon, projectile, bomb, or magic. Traps, however, can only be destroyed by Bombs (excluding Calamity Caltrops), Magic, the Ultra Super Mega Kurasigama, Baseball SplatBat, or RIP by RPG.
Certain Enemies can also be Beheaded. Any weapons that Behead will instantly kill Beheadable Enemies regardless of the Hit Points the Enemy has, however, they count as the same amount of damage as their regular counterparts against Enemies that cannot be Beheaded.
